Los Angeles Promotes Zac Robinson to Quarterbacks Coach/Pass Game Coordinator

STILLWATER – A good story out of the NFL for former Oklahoma State quarterback, Zac Robinson, who’s been promoted to full-time quarterbacks coach/pass game coordinator by the Los Angeles Rams.

Robinson, who’s entering his fourth season with the Rams, started out as an assistant quarterbacks coach in 2019, moved over to assistant wide receivers coach in 2020, then back to assistant quarterbacks coach for the 2021 Super Bowl season.

"Honestly, just the exact same that I've been doing the last three years," Robinson said during a video conference discussing his promotion. "It's gonna be a similar type of role, obviously, just a little bit expanded."

Robinson is taking over the quarterbacks room following the departure of former offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell, who’s now the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings. As for the pass game coordinator, he’s taking over the responsibility following the departure of former tight ends coach Wes Phillips, who followed O’Connell to Minnesota and is now the offensive coordinator for the Vikings.

There’s no question as to the popularity of Robinson in the NFL as there’s multiple analysts who believe he could make his way to being a head coach someday.

Robinson was taken in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. He also spent time in Seattle, Detroit and from 2011-2013 with the Cincinnati Bengals.

During his time at Oklahoma State, Robinson combined for 8,317 passing yards and 66 touchdowns, while rushing for 1,858 yards and 22 touchdowns.

His sophomore season, Robinson led the Pokes to a 49-33 win over Indiana in the 2007 Insight Bowl, while earning the Offensive MVP Award.

wouldn't we want somebody that at least has been a coordinator of something someplace, and/or had experience in recruiting?

Gundy has two more kids in HS to yet be QBs at OSU, so Zach might have a little time to get the experience.
