Jacobe Johnson Includes Oklahoma State in Top Five
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has made the cut for one of the top prospects in the 2023 class. Four-star athlete out of Mustang, Jacobe Johnson, took to Twitter Wednesday evening to announce his top-five schools list.
As you can see from the tweet, Johnson has narrowed things down to Oklahoma State, Alabama, Michigan, Oklahoma and Stanford.
According to the tweet, Johnson will be announcing his commitment on Saturday, August 13 at Mustang’s Bronco Stadium at 8 p.m. during the team’s ‘Bring Out the Broncos’ event.
Johnson, who checks in at 6-3, 191-pounds, is currently ranked as the No. 87 overall prospect in the 2023 class, the No. 6 athlete and the No. 2 overall prospect out of Oklahoma according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
Already an Under Armour All-American, Johnson recorded 35 total tackles and an interception on defense during his junior season, but it was his offense that landed him his accolades. He recorded close to 1,100 yards and 13 touchdowns as a wide receiver last season.
Johnson has been to Stillwater several times over the past few years and was set to make an official visit in June, but OSU encouraged Johnson to take an official in the fall during the season. He has taken official visits to the other four schools though. With him set to announce a commitment on Aug. 13, it obviously doesn’t bode too well for the Pokes, but it’s possible he still takes an official after he commits.
The Cowboys currently hold 10 commitments in the 2023 class, including four-star Waco (TX) Connally defensive back Jelani McDonald and four-star Gretna (NE) HS quarterback Zane Flores.
