STILLWATER – Zach Lancaster from our site showed me his response today to a message on our site about how they were getting so much information from social media rumors and there wasn’t any of that here on Pokes Report. Zach’s response was good. Basically, Pokes Report doesn’t deal in rumors. We do hear quite a few and we check them out.

Joe....I pay my money to share my views, like others, and I am very calm. I have watched and been around probably longer than you and my view is as valid as yours. I stand by my views on where the program is currently. I am also aware of the results of other teams in the BIG 12. I am also aware of the injuries and have kept up with those. I believe you call in to RA, when I listen, and discuss topics of great value which I sometimes enjoy listening. Your post is not anything more than what RA has discussed many times on his show the past few months and many posts here at PF. IMO, which is as valid as yours, RA and Gumby's, the program has plateaued. Making a run at a conference championship every decade is good for some but not me and I have expressed that and possible areas that need improvement. So, for "Christ's sake" I do want more in my lifetime than two conference championships (76/11)!!! Without some sense of urgency (hair on fire) the wall is hit. Just ask Gary Patterson at TCU.....
I deal in reality bub because I come from a family of law enforcement professionals, like the old saying NEVER LET THEM SEE YOU SWEAT! You definitely have a riight to your opinion, in fact I have given you a star or upvote whatever they call it here a number of times, I respect that right and definitely believe in that, we are still a semi free Country, although I question how long that may be the case the way things are going these days!

So we've hit the wall like TCU under Paterson. So you actually do want to fire Gundy. Whew! Glad we got that settled.

I agree. I just finished watching the oUSC/Utah game. The Utes played with so much spark and energy qtrs 2-4. Reminded me of the pokes last year and something that has completely been lost.

So you're saying Gundy was able to create the spark in 2021 but has now completely lost the ability to create a spark? Oooooookay. That's weird.

It's Gundy's responsibility to create the spark in his staff. They provide the energy to the players. Last year our offense was flat. This year we tried going 150 mph with the same offense (minus warren) and it failed. So aside from tempo, not much has changed there.
Last year we were in the top 3 in total defense. This year we are near the bottom of D1 football with the same front.
Perhaps you can elaborate on where the spark was lost. All I know is that it was lost, and Gundy is the only one that can right the ship.

First, I'm not sure what "spark" means. But if you insist on going that direction….
Before Sanders got hurt, we were 2nd or 3rd in the nation in scoring. Was that enough " spark"? Was our offense when healthy a failure?
In Knowles first year the defense gave up 455yds/ gm. In Masons first year the defense gave up 440 yds/gm. Did Knowles have "spark"?
When one unit underperforms part of a year, or even an entire year because of injuries, inexperience, new coaches or lack of talent, does that mean Gundy has completely lost his ability to create a " spark", whatever that means?

Fans, gotta love 'em. SMH

Knowles inherited a defense from Glenn Spencer that gave up 450 yds consistently, year after year, and rebuilt it. Mason inherited a defense that was 3rd in the nation. As i've said in other post all season, our D has lost the basic fundamentals of playing defense (i.e. tackling). So your point is invalid on Knowles giving up 450 his first season.
Spark, heart, energy, fire, intensity....whatever you want to call it. I'm not going to argue over wording,
Spencer played with a lot of (insert your word here). He was the only thing that kept our offense from being completely one dimensional.
We had several players injured last year throughout the season.
I don't know what happened with Gundy and his staff. Most of the season I just felt that we weren't prepared. Again, it's on Gundy to right the ship. I'm tired of the young, injuries, etc excuses.

However, you lost 2 of the best LBs we have ever had, one of the best safeties we have ever had AND 2 veteran DBs that started a lot of games (transferred out).

This years defense was young and inexperienced, but agree, tackling was horrid and scheme was horrid. DLine creates no pressure like it had the year before

You forgot another safety, Tre Sterling, and two interior linemen, Jernigan to Mizzou, and Antwine to the NFL and another CB Holmes to the NFL. That's 8 significant veteran contributors. Scheme was fine, just not executed nor tackled well - a reasonable expectation from an inexperienced defense.

It's hard for some folks to deal with the reality of the hits we took after the Texas game through the rest of this season with injuries!!!! Spencer has a very painful shoulder injury but has gutted it out in amazing fashion!! Since that win we have literally been like a MASH Unit!!! I don't think you can convince anybody of that reality right now Gumby! On a bright note it was really fun watching Gage Gundy win a State Championship yesterday just like his dad and uncle did when they were in high school!

Like I said, I'm tired of the excuses. Every team that completely thumped us had backups in key positions in. Win consistently or go home!

Mason is the first coach who needs to leave town. The defense was discombobulated every game and he couldn't make adjustments until halftime. We needed two halftimes the last 4, 5 games of the season. It's not just a tackling problem.

The first coach he needs to boot is Mason, the D was turrible this season. How many big plays did it give up? The excuse was we lost a lot of guys from last season's team. The personnel was fine. Look at K-State's defense, their recruiting classes every year are #50 or worse, which is usually high 20s to 30-something. That right there tells you their D-coordinator is much better than ours. Joe Bob should've gotten that job.

Actually 7.5 mill, which goes up to 8.5 next season, 9.5 after that, 10.5 after that, 11.5 after that. What a bargain we're getting. The new AD way overreached paying him that much. Gundy should refund some of it based on results, but he won't. And he probably won't fire anybody and we'll suck next season. .500 only if Sanders comes back.

Better be careful on here. Some people will start calling you a UO fan of you don't stoke the orange man part. Just wait until they read it lol.

ESPN+ includes a bevy of exclusive video content from live games to on-demand shows and exclusive stories. Unfortunately, the live games come with commercials just like regular TV. Subscribers can watch live games from the MLB, NHL, and MLS when their seasons are active; there are no live NBA or NFL games. Rumors
