Tyler Lacy Accepts Invite To Play in 2023 Reese’s Senior Bowl
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State defensive end Tyler Lacy has accepted an invite to play in the 2023 Reese’s Senior Bowl.
With Lacy accepting the invite, his time in Stillwater has officially come to an end.
The game is set to be played on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 1:30 p.m. CT and will be televised on the NFL Network.
Receiver Tylan Wallace and cornerback Rodarius Williams were selected to play on the National team in the 2021 Senior Bowl. Wallace, however, did not play in the event due to injury. Corner A.J. Green was selected to play in the 2020 Senior Bowl.
Going back a few more years, the talented receiver duo of Marcell Ateman and James Washington was selected to play in the 2018 Senior Bowl.
The redshirt senior out of Sachse, TX has been one of the best players on the Oklahoma State roster the past few years and has been projected as one of the main NFL prospects on the team. He’s been tabbed a Big 12 Honorable Mention the past three seasons, including 2022, despite missing the remainder of the season following an injury at Kansas.
After being shifted inside on the D-line, Lacy finished the 2022 season with 27 total tackles, 12 of which were solo stops, 8.5 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks. He also had five quarterback hurries, one pass break up and one fumble recovery.
He recorded 34 total tackles in 2021, 21 of which were solo stops, including 11.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. He also recorded eight quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one pass break up.
In the COVID-shortened 2020 season, Lacy recorded and impressive 32 total tackles, eight tackles for loss and four sacks. In his redshirt freshman season, he recorded 20 total tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack and two pass break ups.
