Trace Ford Announces Transfer to Oklahoma
STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma State defensive end Trace Ford has decided on his future school less than a month after entering the transfer portal. Ford took to Twitter Wednesday afternoon to announce he’s transferring to OU.
Ford entered the portal late in the day on December 5.
Ford played in nine games this season, before leaving the Kansas game with a non-contact knee injury. On the season, he recorded eight total tackles, six of which were solo stops, 3.0 tackles for loss and 1.0 sack. He also recorded six pass break ups, five quarterback hurries and one blocked kick.
His career in Stillwater started off really promising before the knee injuries. He recorded 29 total tackles as a true freshman in 2019, 20 of which were solo stops. He also recorded four tackles for loss, three sacks, six pass break ups and one interception and forced fumble each.
His sophomore season, he recorded 22 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, four pass break ups and two forced fumbles before injuring his knee against Baylor in the final game of the regular season.
For his career, Ford finished with 59 total tackles, 41 of which were solo stops, 11.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, 16 pass break ups, three forced fumbles. one interception and one blocked kick in 32 games.
He’s the fourth former OSU football player to land at the Power Five level up to this point, joining linebacker Mason Cobb, who transferred to USC, cornerback Jabbar Muhammad to Washington and running back Dominic Richardson to Baylor.
