STILLWATER – Get ready for an old Big Eight/Big 12 throwback as Oklahoma State has announced a future home-and-home series with Colorado. The Buffaloes are set to visit Stillwater on Sept. 13, 2036, with the Cowboys making the return trip the next season on Sept. 12, 2037.

The two teams have played a total of 47 games during the series that dates back to 1920, with the most recent game taking place in the Valero Alamo Bowl in 2016, a 38-8 win for the Pokes. In fact, the Cowboys have won the past three games against the Buffs, the Alamo Bowl win, a 30-17 win in Boulder in 2008 and a 31-28 win in Stillwater in 2009.

This series adds to the growing list Power Five non-conference games scheduled by OSU, with future dates with Arizona State (2022 and 2023), Arkansas (2024, 2027 and 2032, 2033), Oregon (2025 and 2026, Alabama (2028 and 2029) and Nebraska (2034 and 2035).

Sounds like a good series.

12 years away? My goodness.... I guess that's not too far for schedule planning purposes, but not too many of us could predict where we'd be and what we'd be doing in 12 years.

in 12 years, your 10-year old would be out of college. Those over 65 would be in their late 70's and past. Those just graduating, would likely move away from Oklahoma, and back again.

Trump would be 90, and would have completed his 2nd term (LOL - had to stir the pot a bit). Heck, the 2nd Civil war might be over by then, if not, then CO will likely be on hostile terms with OK. (LOL - okay, I'll stop)

The athletic village would have been completed almost a decade prior.

OSU football would only be about one decade away from winning a MNC. (Our volleyball team will likely win a NC before we win one in Football again).

Heck... RA might even have retired, although I'm not sure journalists retire, the just become columnists.

Isn't 2036 15 years from 2021, not 12. New math....That makes it even worse than the California Cowboy suggests!

LOL - yeah, you're right. I wasn't counting this year... and was starting at 2022, but even then, I guess I was remembering the Bugeaters on the schedule in 2034

I'll be freaking 80, and hopefully am able to make a trip to Boulder.

(do leap years count?)

The headline of "Get Ready" is great. Whether its 14 or 15, everyone should have plenty of time to prepare if they don't die. Trips to Boulder were always great but in 2037 I'll be about to turn 90.

IMO, we owe them a rematch (return the favor) from the 1976 game..... just saying.
