The Cowboys held onto the 23-16 win over Missouri State on Saturday thanks in part to two huge stops on fourth down late in the game by the defense. Super senior linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez led the way with 15 total tackles, nine of which were solo stops, three quarterback hurries, and one tackle for loss, forced fumble and pass breakup apiece.
On the offensive side of the ball, Shane Illingworth finished the day with a career-high 315 yards on 22-of-40 passing with one touchdown and interception.
Tay Martin led the way in receiving 107 yards and a touchdown on six receptions.
