Oklahoma State Climbs One Spot in Updated Coaches Poll

STILLWATER – Following its 28-23 win over Tulsa in Stillwater on Saturday, Oklahoma State moved up one spot in the updated weekly USA Today Coaches Poll.

The Cowboys flirted with disaster against the Golden Hurricane on Saturday as they scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to pull out the win. After missing the season opener due to COVID protocols, Spencer Sanders finished the day going 15-of-26 for 173 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. He also had 10 carries for 62 yards. Both freshmen Jaden Bray and Bryson Green scored their first career touchdowns on Saturday.

While Green’s circus catch at the edge of the West end zone goes down as one of the best catches on program history, LD Brown’s 98-yard kickoff return goes down as the play of the day.

On the defensive side of the ball, Malcolm Rodriguez led the way with 13 total tackles, eight of which were solo stops. Safety Kolby Harvell-Peel was second on the team with seven total tackles. We saw safety Jason Taylor II haul in a pick six to start the game, only for it to be called back on a defensive holding call.
