Malcolm Rodriguez and LD Brown Tabbed Big 12 Players of the Week

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has its first Big 12 Players of the Week in the 2021 season.

Linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez was tabbed Co-Defensive Player of the Week, while Brown was tabbed the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week.

This marks the third Big 12 Player of the Week honor for Rodriguez and the first for Brown.

Rodriguez once again led the Pokes in tackles, as well as the Tulsa side, with 13 total stops against the Golden Hurricane on Saturday. He also posted eight solo stops, recording five stops during the first eight plays of the game.

Through two games this season, Rodriguez leads all FBS players with an average of 14 tackles per game, while leading the nation with 8.5 solo stops per game.

As for LD, his 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown helped spark the Pokes’ explosive fourth quarter. He led all players in the Tulsa game with 141 all-purpose yards. He also ranks No. 5 in the FBS with an average of 38.7 yards per kickoff return.
