STILLWATER – November 10 is the start of the November signing period for multiple college sports, including baseball. Cowboy baseball inked its 2022 signing class on Wednesday, which included Stillwater HS standout shortstop, Jackson Holliday.

If that name sounds familiar, it’s because he’s the son of Oklahoma State assistant, and multi-time MLB all-star Matt Holliday, and the nephew to head coach Josh Holliday.

Jackson Holliday is a Perfect Game All-American, one of nine high school players across the country to be named to the 2021 ABCA/Rawlings High School Gold Glove Team, the only player from Oklahoma, as well as a member of the under-18 Team USA squad.

While he’s an excellent addition to the 2022 signing class and would make an immediate impact in the middle of the field for the Cowboys, he’s going to be a fairly high draft pick in the upcoming MLB amateur draft. However, he’s got a couple of people who are very well versed in navigating the MLB Draft, his dad, as well as the greatest college baseball player of all-time, Robin Ventura, who’s also on staff at Oklahoma State.

While there’s not a full list of signees yet, you can view the list of players on the Cowboy baseball Twitter account here.
