The late season injury toll is on. Oklahoma State is still in much better shape prior to kickoff with TCU than they were back in September, but football is football.

STILLWATER – It’s moments before kickoff at Boone Pickens Stadium as No. 10 Oklahoma State prepares for the challenge from Big 12 rival TCU. The Cowboys will be without a pair of offensive starters in the contest. Left guard Josh Sills had an injury that occurred last Saturday against West Virginia but wasn’t discovered until Sunday. The medical staff eventually had Sills undergo an MRI and it revealed a foot injury that will keep him out a week or two. Sills should be back for sure in time for the Bedlam game on Nov. 27.

The same for Cowboy back Braden Cassity as he was injured early in the win over the Mountaineers. Cassity has an ankle injury, actually a high ankle sprain, but the prognosis is for him to be back at least in time for the game with Oklahoma, if not earlier.

There is good news on the injury front on the other side of the football. All-Big 12 safety Tre Sterling had the cast on his wrist modified and he can now play in game with the cast taped and cushioned with foam. Sterling did well in practice this week and will provide quality depth for the safety positions behind Jason Taylor II or Kolby Harvell-Peel.

Another note involves running back LD Brown as last week Dezmon Jackson was back from injury and got a carry in the West Virginia contest. Brown, who has been out since being injured in the win at Boise State, has been working out. It would appear that while Brown looked to be out for the rest of the season that he could be back in the next two weeks. Brown has told Pokes Report that he believes he is close to being cleared for play.
