Oklahoma State's AJ Ferrari Signs NIL Deal With WWE

Another Oklahoma State athlete has signed an NIL deal, but it’s easily the biggest deal any of them have signed. Cowboy wrestler AJ Ferrari has officially signed with WWE.

Out of all the NIL deals signed across the country since the summer, this one might make the most sense.

The WWE launched their NIL program on Dec. 2, Next In Line, which includes some of the top athletes in the NIL world, including Olympic gold medal wrestler, Gable Steveson and the Cavender twins from Fresno State.

“All athlete partnerships will feature access to the state-of-the-art WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Fla., in addition to resources across the organization including brand building, media training, communications, live event promotion, creative writing and community relations. Upon completion of the NIL program, select athletes may earn an exclusive opportunity to be offered a WWE contract.”

Ferrari is the perfect candidate for this oppurtunity as he’s one of the biggest personalities to ever come through Oklahoma State. He’s called out the OU baseball team while ripping a tank top off, then backed that up by calling the OU football team out a few weeks ago at Bedlam.

With his personality, work ethic and athleticism, don’t be surprised if you see the WWE take advantage of the last part of their statement and offer Ferrari an exclusive contract.

wait... what?

He signed a contract to earn the right to sign a contract? How much is that exactly?

Great info I was wondering what all was entailed. Not a huge fan but of WWE, but he's a perfect fit.

So the current contract grants him access to their performance center, all the resources they have including building a brand and how to properly speak with the media. Once that opportunity is over, the WWE will offer a contract to any of the athletes they feel could excel in their brand. The way he is now, I'd find it very hard to believe Ferrari won't be offered one. He's basically a pro wrestler as it is.

huh?

Pro wrestling is not real.... isn't' that correct?

this is not talking about MMA, you realize that right?

Yes we realize that. The kid is a natural for the WWE, and the company is putting some money and development info in to him and 14 other kids.

Is it a form of athletic competition? Not really.

Is it a form of athletic based entertainment? Absolutely and its biggest stars have long lucrative careers. And, many OSU wrestlers have enjoyed careers in pro wrestling.

Smart move by the WWE and the kids who signed. These kids will get to explore an opportunity, and get some value and cash out of it. The WWE might find their next batch of stars. Everybody wins, and much more NIL than a bunch of rich alums paying kids for being on campus.

I disagree with most of that statement....

I hope it works out for him.

Just out of curiosity, what parts of what NJAggie said do you disagree with?
CaliforniaCowboy

most of it..... i.e., almost all of it.

this part I would mostly agree with,

Is it a form of athletic competition? Not really.

You don't think it's a form of athletic entertainment? You might not find it entertaining, but the $5.7 billion net worth in 2020 would say otherwise. Nearly the entire roster of athletes is incredibly athletic, with several having won Olympic medals over the years.

As for AJ, he has one of the biggest personalities to come through OSU in a while, is incredibly athletic and strong, and will fit in well in the WWE. Some might think he should become an MMA fighter, and it's possible he could take that route, but I feel once he gets a taste of the fame and money the WWE provides, he'll be hooked. Personally, I don't watch it so I'm not defending it, I just understand how massive this is. Some people don't agree or like NIL, which is fine, but there's no arguing how lucrative this deal is for nearly everyone who signed a deal.

actually the statement says Athletic COMPETITION. and no, it is not competition... (you changed it to Entertainment)

those folks are roided up freaks that create false celebrity personalities for entertainment purposes... and no, I do not think of AJ in that vein.

I have much more respect for him than that.... I'm glad he gets the image improvement training.

and... getting a deal for image training IS NOT MASSIVE. If it led to a subsequent deal, then that possibly could be huge.

This is what you said:

This is what NJAggie said: Is it a form if athletic based entertainment? Absolutely.

With you saying the part you mostly agree with is it not being athletic competition means you don't agree with it being a form of athletic based entertainment. So, no, I didn't change it.

I'm not sure where you're getting that... I cut and pasted it from his post.

This is his post, the same post you said you cut and pasted from. You said you only agreed with it not being a form of athletic competition, to which I asked the question "You don't think it's a form of athletic entertainment?" Then supplied the net worth of over $5 billion to prove it's entertainment.

You claimed I changed NJAggie's word from "COMPETITION" to "Entertainment," when he very clearly wrote two statements using athletic competition and athletic based entertainment. Again, you might not think it's entertainment, but you cannot overlook a $5 billion evaluation. If it wasn't entertainment and no one cared about it, it would be worth $0.

so sorry, I was referring to the sentence above that.

Yes, I agree it is entertainment, and do not agree with the rest of that statement though.

No. You said some bizarre off the wall crap. He was trying to wrap his head around it. He clarified it, you doubled down. Rinse repeat. Same ole stuff.

Duke, you're full of crap. You goofs get on here and accuse me of stuff and derail the threads with comments like this, then you want to blame me again for that too.

Just leave me alone.

I only said that I did not agree with all that NJ said, because a bunch of it was off the wall... and I did not want to elaborate, because it just wasn't' worth it.

Zach and I were speaking past each other for a bit, because he responded to a post of mine that said something different than the new point he was making.

YOU, on the other hand, offer nothing and perpetuate the attacks and derailment... and then try to blame me.

The thread was over, and Zach and I fully reconciled until you popped your unwanted nose in the thread and added nothing but personal attacks.

If you have nothing to say on the subject, then don't. but here you are whining again about others, while you do exactly what you're whining about.

SMH

If you want, I'll elaborate in detail about what I thought were misstatements by NJ.

and how about my NIL joke... nothing there?

Duke, get a life. Everyone.

Since NJ seems to be exactly right with every point he made, I'd like to hear what you think is wrong.
