Braylin Presley Excited to Get Back to Teaming with Brother
BIXBY – We’ve said all along at Pokes Report that one of the best aspects of this 2022 recruiting class for Oklahoma State is the offensive explosion in the class with players like Ollie Gordon, C.J. Brown, and Talyn Shettron. Cowboy fans have already had an example of the offensive fireworks they will get out of Bixby’s Braylin Presley. The two-time Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year, part of four-Class 6A-II State Championships as a player, and also part of an Oklahoma state record for 11-man football 49-game winning streak, Presley follows in his brother’s footsteps heading from their hometown to Stillwater.
“Unbelievable. I want to say more emotions are flying than winning the state championship two weeks ago,” Braylin Presley said as he sat with his mom and dad and his older brother by two-years, Brennan that proceeded him at Oklahoma State. “You work so hard to do something like this and there are not very many people that get to be in this position, so unbelievable that I get to do this.”
If you ask OSU fans they will tell you it is unbelievable that the Cowboys have two Presley’s manning the slot position for Oklahoma State. Head coach Mike Gundy was asked at his recruiting signing day press conference which Presley is faster. Gundy joked that they might have to have a race next summer to find out.
"Same type of player,” Gundy answered when asked to compare the brothers. “He's (Braylin) more right to left: tougher to two-blow in a phone booth, would be my guess. I don't know who's faster. They argue over it all the time. We'll race them this summer; we'll see who's faster. I'm guessing there's not going to be that much difference in either one of them. [Braylin and Brennan] are tough, highly competitive, love to play football, come from a great family – very athletic family – they understand right from wrong, mom and dad don't put up with any B.S.”
Before we find out who is faster, we will hear how excited they are to be together on the same team, playing on the same field again. Brennan was there for his brother’s signing ceremony. Braylin has made all of Brennan’s games in Stillwater.
“I’m extremely excited and it’s a connection that hasn’t been there for two-years,” Presley said of reuniting on the field with his older brother. “Just the opportunity to do that again and not just get to play with Brennan, but to do it with Coach Gundy, Coach Dunn, and all of those coaches down there. I’m extremely fortunate and blessed to be able to do what I’m going to go do at Oklahoma State.”
So are all of us. The brothers combined for 155 touchdowns at Bixby. I’m not predicting a number like that, but I can promise that number will be big by the time Braylin goes through Senior Night in Stillwater. Remember, Brennan came in 2019 the COVID year, so he qualifies for an extra year of eligibility. That’s unbelievable!
