Oklahoma State Offensive Lineman Cade Bennett Announces He Will Enter Transfer Portal

The transfer portal added another Oklahoma State offensive lineman as class of 2020 signee Cade Bennett announced he will enter the portal to look for a new home.

The 6’3 315 pound Bennett appeared in two games in the 2021 season, Kansas and Notre Dame.

Bennett is the third Cowboy offensive lineman to enter the portal, joining Hunter Anthony (Nebraska) and Monroe Mills. Both Mills and Bennett are redshirt-freshman.

The other transfers include Tanner McCalister (Ohio State), Jayden Jernigan (Missouri), and Matt Polk.

Some of these transfers can be viewed as natural attrition as comes with the modern ways of college football. Transfers are inevitable in college football today. The transfers will also open up more scholarships to allow new additions such as transfers and the 2022 signees/enrollees.

This will most likely not be the last of the Cowboys entering the portal, in fact there may be several more. In most of these cases, it is just a situation of players not having a clear path or future to playing time.
