Collin Oliver Picks Up FWAA Freshman All-America Honors
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State defensive end/edge rusher Collin Oliver has picked up a major award following the 2021-22 season. On Monday, the freshman out of Edmond (OK) Santa Fe has been named to the Football Writers Association of America’s Freshman All-America Team.
He’s one of three Big 12 freshmen named to the team, as he joins Texas WR Xavier Worthy and West Virginia offensive lineman Wyatt Milum.
Oliver finished the 2021 season with 29 total tackles, 20 of which were solo stops. He led the team in tackles for loss with 15.5 for a loss of 84 yards, as well as in sacks with 11.5 for a loss of 76 yards. Two of those sacks came in the Bedlam game against Oklahoma, including the game-clinching sack of Caleb Williams to give the Pokes the ball back.
He also recorded five quarterback hurries and one forced fumble. His 11.5 sacks ties for seventh among all FBS players this past season.
Following the regular season, Oliver was one of four OSU second team All-Big 12 selections and was the unanimous choice for Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year.
