TULSA, Okla. – Oklahoma State posted its eighth consecutive win Wednesday with a 9-4 rout of Oral Roberts at J.L. Johnson Stadium.

With the win, the No. 4 Cowboys improved to 15-6, while ORU fell to 12-9.

Ryan Bogusz recorded his first-career win in relief as the right-hander worked four scoreless innings and struck out four while allowing only one hit.

Nolan McLean and Chase Adkison both smashed home runs for the Cowboys, who had seven players collect RBIs in the contest.

OSU jumped out to an early lead on McLean's team-leading fifth homer of the season, an opposite-field solo shot to right in the second inning.

But the lead did not last long. In the bottom of the inning, ORU got a leadoff double and a walk before an RBI single by AJ Archambo tied the score at 1-1. OSU starter Dillon Marsh escaped further damage by inducing an inning-ending double play to keep the score tied.

The Pokes wasted no time regaining the lead when Adkison led off the third with a bomb over the left-field wall. Adkison's third homer of the season gave OSU a 2-1 advantage.

The visitors weren't done as they rallied for two more runs in the inning. Caeden Trenkle and Zach Ehrhard followed the homer with back-to-back singles, and a one-out single off the bat of David Mendham brought home OSU's third run. The Cowboys would then go up 4-1 on a sacrifice fly by Marcus Brown.

A four-run rally by the Pokes in the sixth strengthened their lead. OSU got just one hit in the inning but took advantage of some shaky ORU defense and got a big swing of the bat by Jake Thompson, who smacked a two-RBI double off the wall in right field.

OSU pushed the lead to 9-1 after seven innings before the Golden Eagles cut into their deficit on a two-run double by Caleb Denny in the eighth and added their final run in the ninth.

The Cowboys return to action Friday when they open Big 12 Conference play at home against Kansas. The opener is set for a 6 p.m. first pitch at O'Brate Stadium.
