STILLWATER – I normally don’t do this until June or July before the Big 12 Football Media Days and then again a revision after the chance to talk to Big 12 coaches and players. Now days, everybody wants it out earlier and with the NCAA Basketball Tournament over, college sports fans have turned attention to football.

I count 46 wins. I'm willing to take one from the horns and make them 3-6 in conference.

Robert, I was shocked to see your 7-5 prediction for Baylor. It certainly appears that Dave Aranda have turned the program around. He has good returning talent from last year and seems to be recruiting well. Why so pessimistic?

I have OU at 9-3 along with Kansas State, they will experience a huge difference not having Williams behind center now that he is at USC. Plus hate on Reilly all you want but he was one of the best schemers when it came to the offensive side of the football as any coach out there.

It's not weird hoping for a bad season for OU, but I am also hoping for a good season for USC. After they talked themselves into Venables being an improvement, I would really love to see them get the double whammy.

Robert, in my opinion, did a pretty good job with his prognostications. I compared his to Pete Fuitak at College Football News and laughed a little bit at Petes pick of Texas at 9 - 3 (I guess there is still time to buy a new defense via the Portal ???). He had OU at number I at 10 - 2, saying they will have an incredible offense despite losing the two main running game weapons in Williams and Brooks along with two of their best O lineman who are draft eligible and choose to leave although they still have Rhaym at cente, plus Williams, again in my opinion, was a future superstar at QB.

Robert - would you rerank WVU any higher now that transfer QB JT Daniels has announced today that he's headed there?

he was the 2nd true freshman QB ever to start at USC, after some injury seasons he transferred to Georgia where he went 7-0 as a starter... now he says this..

He chose West Virginia over Missouri and Oregon State after taking visits to all three in recent weeks. The confluence of a strong complement of five returning offensive linemen with 107 combined career starts, experienced skill players and the impression left by Brown led to Daniels choosing the Mountaineers.

Daniels said the familiarity with the Air Raid system that Harrell ran at USC will help ease the transition, as the offense is essentially the one he learned back in 2019.

"Going up and down the roster, I feel like they have very, very good pieces everywhere," Daniels told ESPN in a phone interview. "It feels like a great fit for quarterback. I feel like there's a really, really, really good team that I'm going to step into and do my part to contribute."

If Daniels wins the job, he'll play behind an offensive line that features all five starters returning. That includes center Zach Frazier, who should be among the best in the country at his position, and tackle Wyatt Milum, who was regarded as one of the country's best freshman tackles last season.
