Vincent Taylor Signs One-Year Contract With Atlanta Falcons

STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma State defensive tackle Vincent Taylor is officially off the market as he’s signed a one-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons.

Taylor, who played for the Houston Texans this past season, missed nearly all of the 2021 season after going down with a leg injury in week one against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He recorded one tackle before his injury.

He was with the Cleveland Browns the previous season and played in 15 games, making one start.

Prior to his time in Cleveland, Taylor spent one season in Buffalo with the Bills after spending the first two seasons of his career with the Miami Dolphins. During the 21 games he played with the Dophins, Taylor recorded 45 total tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks and three quarterback hits.

Injuries have been a bit of a problem for the former sixth round pick. He played in 13 games his rookie season before a knee injury sidelined him for the remainder of the season, then a foot injury just eight games into his second year.

After redshirting his freshman year at Oklahoma State, Taylor recorded 112 tackles in three seasons, including 11 sacks as an interior lineman.

In fact, Taylor set and then broke a record for most tackles in a season by an interior defensive tackle during Mike Gundy’s time as head coach. He recorded 48 total tackles and 5.0 sacks during his sophomore season in 2015, then topped it when he recorded 51 tackles and seven sacks as a junior in 2016.

There’s been only one player who’s come close to those numbers as DeQuinton Osborne posted 44 total tackles and six sacks during the 2017 season.
