Oklahoma State Makes Top 4 of 2023 Four-Star Defensive End
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has been known for very good defensive ends recently and the Pokes are one step closer to possibly adding another one to the roster.
Four-star defensive end Avion Carter took to Twitter Monday morning to announce his top 4 schools list, which included the Pokes.
Carter, a 6-4, 240-pound defensive end out of Tascosa HS in Amarillo, TX, was in Stillwater on an official visit the weekend of the Spring Finale.
Playing in 10 games this past season as a junior, Carter helped the Rebels to a 10-3 overall record in 2021, 5-1 in District play. He recorded 55 total tackles, 28 of which were solo stops and seven for a loss. He also recorded eight sacks, two pass break ups and one fumble recovery.
Following the season, Carter was tabbed the Texas District 2-5A-I Defensive Player of the Year. Following his sophomore season, in which he recorded 67 total tackles, including 18 tackles for a loss and 10 sacks, he was tabbed a first team All-District selection.
Carter is listed as the No. 90 overall ranked prospect in the 2023 class according to the 247Sports composite ranking, the No. 12 defensive lineman in the class and the No. 16 overall rated prospect out of the Lone Star State.
