STILLWATER – Oklahoma State won its fifth consecutive game Friday night as the No. 3 Cowboys picked up a 4-0 victory over Southeast Missouri State at O'Brate Stadium.

Justin Campbell, Hueston Morrill and Nolan McLean combined to post the Cowboys' second shutout of the season as that trio tallied 16 strikeouts to help OSU improve to 32-13.

Campbell, who entered the game sixth nationally in strikeouts with 100, racked up 12 punchouts and walked just one in seven innings to improve to 7-1 on the season; Morrill and McLean each worked an inning and picked up two strikeouts apiece.

Caeden Trenkle was 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs in the win, while Jake Thompson also drove in a run for the Pokes.

The Cowboys jumped out to an early lead in this one thanks to some aggressive baserunning in the first. Roc Riggio singled to lead things off and advanced to second on a groundout. During Thompson's at-bat, Riggio took third on a wild pitch and managed to score when the catcher's throw sailed into left field.

OSU added another run in the second to double its lead. Marcus Brown drew a two-out walk and stole second, and Trenkle then dropped a single just inside the left-field line to bring Brown around to score and make it a 2-0 advantage.

The Cowboys added their final two runs in the fifth. Trenkle led off the inning in a big way, blasting the first pitch he saw over the right-field wall for a solo home run, his fifth of the year. Two of the next three OSU batters singled before Thompson brought one home with a sacrifice fly to extend the lead to four.

The two teams return to action Saturday at 6 p.m.
