NORMAN, Okla. – The No. 7 Oklahoma State softball team lost to No. 1 Oklahoma, 6-0, on Friday at Marita Hynes Field.

With the loss, OSU moved to 38-11 and 14-3 in the Big 12. Oklahoma improved to 47-1 and 16-1 in the conference. With the win Oklahoma clinched the Big 12 regular season championship.

Morgan Day fell to 9-3, pitching six innings, allowing six runs on seven hits.

Oklahoma capitalized on an OSU defensive miscue. A fielder's choice that resulted in zero outs in the third inning led to a five-run outburst from the Sooners. The Cowgirls fielded the ball and ran the Oklahoma runner back to third but never made a tag and allowed the runner that had advancedo go to third to second safely. Oklahoma went on to score five runs in the inning.

The Cowgirls were kept off the board in the fifth inning, when a run was cut down at the plate trying to score on a single to right from Katelynn Carwile.

The Bedlam series finale will be played tomorrow at 4 p.m. CT, televised on ESPNU.
