TUCSON, Ariz. – Oklahoma State’s Justin Campbell is the 12th player in program history to be a multiple-time All-American.

Campbell was named to the 2022 Collegiate Baseball All-America Second Team, achieving that honor for the second consecutive year. He is OSU’s first two-time All-American since Corey Brown and Tyler Mach reached that status in 2006-07.

A right-hander from Simi Valley, Calif., Campbell is 9-2 with a 3.43 ERA in 15 starts this season; he has tossed two complete games and opponents are hitting just .212 against him. In 94 1/3 innings, he has tallied 133 strikeouts, a total that ranks fifth nationally and is the seventh most in a single season in OSU history.

Campbell has posted double-digit strikeout totals six times this season and has struck out at least eight in 11 of his 15 starts, including a career-high 14 punchouts against TCU.

A Golden Spikes Award semifinalist and an All-Big 12 First Team performer, Campbell’s 257 career strikeouts rank ninth on OSU’s all-time list. He has recorded 100 strikeouts each of the last two seasons, becoming just the fourth Cowboy hurler to reach that milestone twice.

On Thursday Oklahoma State head coach Josh Holliday announced that the Cowboys would start Victor Mederos in the opener Friday against Missouri State. Campbell will get the ball for the second game of the regional.
