STILLWATER – This is really the first part of a two-part look at the Oklahoma State linebackers for this season. Elsewhere on the front page of Pokes Report you can read about NFL training camps opening up across the nation and two of the Cowboys most valuable and physical defensive players from last season the throughout their collegiate careers, linebackers Malcolm Rodriguez and Devin Harper are wearing different shades of blue and silver now.

I remember watching that Kansas State vs. Texas A&M Big XII championship game!!! That had to be a killer to lose that in overtime to the Aggies for JoeBob. I am sure he probably had those same types of feelings when we came up a couple of inches short last year in Dallas!!! Go Pokes and go take care of that unfinished business this year in Dallas!!!

Thanks for this series Robert. Linebacker to me makes the difference this year in terms of OSU being one of the best or the best defense in the conference to slipping to mid conference standing. We appear to have some great DE's, solid DT's, and DB's. But "shut down the run and short pass" linebackers would keep this team in contention to beat everyone in the conference IF the team stays healthy and finds Warren's replacement(s).

Enjoyable read!

Have always thought that Gundy was opportunistically smart with the Mason/Clements off-season moves. Giving Clements time to be groomed and given Mason was probably a 1 yr opportunity for OSU etc...
