Cowboys Up in Polls and Change at the Top

STILLWATER – No surprises that when the major college polls dropped on Sunday following the action on Oct. 1 the Big 12’s representation in thos rankings had changed significantly. The one constant was Oklahoma State as the Cowboys stayed in the top 10 of both polls and even grabbed a little more traction. In a lesser and less recognized poll - the National Football Foundation and Football Writers Association of American Super 16 - Oklahoma State actually was ranked at No. 6. The same thought remains. These polls are good for conversation and get your name and logo out there constantly on the college football shows and scoreboards. You are more relavant than the rest of college football.

Out of the two major polls were Oklahoma and Texas and in were Kansas and TCU. Kansas State jumped a little, Baylor did not drop out of the coaches poll but did the AP. That means that the Big 12 has one match-up of ranked teams this next week and it is not in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl, but instead in Lawrence, Kansas where the now ranked Jayhawks (17/19 will host TCU (18/17).

No. 7 Oklahoma State will host unranked Texas Tech (3-2) at 2:30 p.m. inside Boone Pickens Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 8.

Baylor should have not dropped. Several teams in the top 10 I think Baylor can beat. Big 12 gets no respect. It seems the national media hates B12 especially OK state. Things were so much better before espn started manipulating college football.

You have some in the National Media that have an issue with Mike Gundy, first over the rant in 2007 and then from that stupid little twat at Pistols Firing who posted the picture of Mike wearing an OANN shirt on a fishing trip after all the upheaval of the Summer of 2020 which seemed to bring on a lot of political strife!!!

I don't think you can leave Baylor in the top 25 at this point with two losses. Nobody in the AP has 2 losses, and only BU and Arkansas in the Coach's have 2 losses, and Arkansas might have a case as the only 2 loss team being ranked solely on their performance against Bama.

I think Baylor is better than KU by a long shot, possibly better than KState, but at this point, with the records of the other teams, It sort of makes sense. It would seem more biased to leave them in with 2 losses, IMO.

KU lucked into their win with ISU due to missed FGs... KU will have a good season, but definitely not a conference contender based on what we've seen so far.

KState lost to Tulane, they have weaknesses. Martinez won't be the hero every week in this conference. I don't think that they are conference contenders.

Dykes has TCU playing like their hair is on fire... they look pretty good at this point. Texas is still strong despite the silly loss to TTech. BU only has one conference loss.

IMO, the Goons are out with 2 conference losses.
