Cowgirls Check In Preseason No. 10 in D1 Softball Preseason Top 25
STILLWATER – Kenny Gajewski’s Cowgirl softball squad is looking to make it back to the Women’s College World Series in 2021 and they’re already off to a great start. In D1 Softball’s Preseason Top 25 poll released Monday morning, the Cowgirls check in at No. 10.

The Cowgirls were rolling last season as one of the best teams in the country by the team the remainder of the 2020 season was canceled due to COVID-19. They were sitting at 19-5 overall and were riding a 12-game winning streak by the time things got shutdown. Two of the five losses came in one-point decisions against No. 11 LSU on the road. However, just a few days later, they knocked off No. 9 Alabama on the road, as well as No. 13 Minnesota and spilt two games with No. 1 Louisiana.
They picked up an impressive 5-4 extra innings home win over No. 10 Oregon and an 11-2 win over No. 25 Utah before the season came to a halt.
Cowgirls’ 2021 returning roster
Gajewski returns the same incredibly talented roster for the upcoming 2021 season, including seniors 1B Alysen Febrey, 3B Sydney Pennington, OF Michaela Richbourg, IF Hayley Busby and pitchers Carrie Eberle, Gabby Sprang and Logan Simunek.
