Oklahoma State's Kiley Naomi Tabbed Big 12 Player of the Week
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State’s Kiley Naomi just picked up her first Big 12 Player of the Week honor following a stellar performance in the TaxAct Clearwater Invitational this past weekend.
From the plate, Naomi posted an incredible .583 batting average on 7-of-12 hitting from the plate, including four home runs, two of which came in the 10-9 win over No. 8 Virginia Tech and her first career grand slam, which came in the 12-2 five-inning run rule of Louisiana. She also posted 12 RBIs and 20 total bases with a 1.667 slugging percentage, as well as scored seven runs.
In the field, the shortstop recorded three putouts, assisted in 12 outs and recorded zero errors.
To add to the impressive play, according to the Big 12, Naomi’s “slugging percentage (1.667), on-base percentage (.706), home runs (4) and RBIs (12) all led or tied for the lead in the Big 12 for the week.”
The Cowgirls are back in action this week as they travel out to Las Cruces, NM, for the Troy Cox Classic, where they’ll kick things off against New Mexico on Friday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. CT.
