Oklahoma State With Two Selected in the 2023 WPF Draft
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State softball had two players who were selected in the 2023 Women’s Profession Fastpitch draft on Monday evening.
Infield Rachel Becker was selected in the second round with the fifth overall pick and infielder Kiley Naomi was selected in the third round with the 11th overall pick. Both were selected by the Smash It Sports Vipers.
Becker is having an incredible year in her lone year for the Cowgirls as she currently leads the team with a .496 batting average and .736 slugging percentage. She currently has 60 hits in 121 at-bats, which includes 16 doubles, three triples and three home runs.
As for Naomi, she’s currently second on the team with a .394 batting average and a .697 slugging percentage. Naomi has 52 hits in 132 at-bats, which includes 13 doubles and a team-high nine home runs.
The WPF is a four-team professional softball league, the OKC Spark, Texas Smoke, Smash It Sports Vipers and USSAA Pride. According to the WFP draft guide, only current college seniors are eligible for the draft and can’t sign any WPF player contracts until they’ve officially exhausted their remaining college eligibility.
The Vipers are currently based out of Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Alabama.
