Oklahoma State Baseball’s Tyler Wulfert Named Big 12’s Top Newcomer
IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State's Tyler Wulfert is the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for his performance in week 10.
Wulfert helped lead OSU to a 4-0 week that included a non-conference win over Oklahoma at home and a road series sweep at Kansas as the Cowboys ran their winning streak to five games.
OSU's third baseman, Wulfert hit .600 on the week, going 9-for-15 at the plate with three doubles, a triple, a home run and six RBIs; his 17 total bases led the club during the stretch. He also drew four walks, scored seven runs, picked up a pair of sacrifice flies and did not commit an error at the hot corner.
Wulfert had multiple hits in all four games and posted a pair of two-RBI outings. His hot hitting saw his season batting average jump 52 points to .341, and he is OSU's leading hitter in Big 12 games with a .400 average.
