Oklahoma State Signs Transfer Guard Jarius Hicklen
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men’s basketball has announced the signing of North Florida transfer guard, Jarius Hicklen, one day after he committed to the Cowboys.
Checking in a 6-3, 170 pounds, Hicklen spent the first two seasons of his college career at Oklahoma Baptist in Shawnee, OK, and the past two seasons at North Florida, where he’s coming off a solid senior season.
Originally out of DeSoto (TX) High School, the grad transfer averaged 12.5 points on 38% shooting from the floor, including a 36% clip from 3-point range. He also shot 76% from the free throw line. His season also included impressive performances at Washington (19 points on 40% shooting), at Kentucky (17 points on 50% shooting), at Pittsburgh (15 points in 45% shooting) and at Houston (12 points on 36% shooting).
In his two seasons with the Ospreys, Hicklen averaged 12.2 points and shot 38% from beyond the arc.
There are now two scholarships remaining, preferably for a true point guard and one big man. Boynton and Co. have signed five high school prospects, F/C Brandon Garrison, wing Eric Dailey Jr., CG Jamyron Keller, G/F Justin McBride and G/F Connor Dow. They’ve also signed transfer guard Javon Small and big man Mike Marsh.
