Nebraska Knocks Off Wichita State, Oklahoma State Needs One Win Sunday
STILLWATER – It was late on Saturday night that Nebraska, survivor of the loser’s bracket with a tight 3-2 win over UMBC won their second game of the middle day of the Stillwater Regional and eliminated one of Oklahoma State’s nemesis from this past season. Now, Oklahoma State needs just one win and Nebraska will have to sweep two games on Sunday. The first meeting is at 3 p.m. in Cowgirls Stadium.
The Cowgirls dumpped Wichita State earlier on Saturday 6-0. The Shockers came into that winner’s bracket meeting with two wins over the Cowgirls this season.
While Oklahoma State and their squad rested with a 2-0 record in the regional sitting in the “catbird” seat, Nebraska battled and eliminated Wichita State 9-8. The Huskers advanced to the regional final with a 36-21 record. Oklahoma State is 43-14 after winning both games so far in the regional.
If Nebraska wins the first game, the two teams will turn around and play again at 5:30 p.m. local time.
