it seems like they should re-seed the teams when they reach OKC.
Oklahoma State to Face Florida State in First Round of Women's College World Series
STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State Cowgirls (46-14 overall) completed the sweep of the Oregon Ducks, 9-0, on Friday night to advance to their fourth-straight appearance in the Women’s College World Series.
Across the country, the Cowgirls’ opening round opponent, the No. 3 seeded Florida State Seminoles (55-9 overall), was completing a sweep of the Georgia Bulldogs to also advance to the WCWS.
The two teams will face off in the first round of the WCWS on Thursday, June 1. First pitch and television details have yet to be announced.
The Cowgirls took two out of three against the Seminoles back in early march, dropping the first game 7-5, then coming back for a 9-1 5-inning run rule win and closing the series out with a 3-2 win.
The two teams certainly have some postseason history as the Cowgirls eliminated the then-ranked No. 4 Seminoles in the Tallahassee Super Regional back in 2019 to advance to their first WCWS since 2011. Then following the cancelled 2020 COVID season, the Seminoles eliminated the Cowgirls in the 2021 WCWS.
