Maxwell Makes it Official Going to OU, Former Teammate Eberle Now Pitching Coach A Reason?

STILLWATER – The worse possible scenario as Extra Innings Softball first reported that Oklahoma State All-American pitcher Kelly Maxwell is transferring to Oklahoma. Maxwell first announced she was leaving after her pitching coach John Bargfeldt announced his retirement and OSU head coach Kenny Gajewski announced later he was hiring former Cowgirls pitcher and a teammate at one time to Maxwell, Carrie Eberle as the new pitching coach.

I have always been a huge baseball fan but, as a fan of all things OSU, softball has certainly come into its own level of importance in the sports fan landscape.
This move leaves Maxwell with the worst legacy possible as far as OSU softball athletes go.
Whatever happened to loyalty among this generation of athletes??
Pick a side, any side…..her side is strictly herself.

I tend to agree with you... as an OSU fan

but as an individual, hell yes, I'd take the career opportunity of a lifetime.

I fault OSU for not retaining her, I do not fault her in any way.

Sure I'm disappointed, as a fan, but I support individual success where ever a person can find it.. even when it does not align with my preferences.

You go girl, I just hope the goons don't pitch her against OSU during the regular season, but that is on the goons, not on her.

Good plan Joe……I have no sympathy for traitors.
Going to the gooners makes her a villain for OSU fans while she could have been a hero. She and her family's poor decision. Hope they got well paid.
If you want to root for her that's your choice but, I dang sure won't.

I don't think Patty will pitch her against OSU, unless Kelly puts in a strong request to pitch against the Cowboys. . She gave four great years to the Cowboys.

Lol. Patty will put her best pitcher(s) on the mound - period.

The long wait to announce she's going to OU was orchestrated to appear as if she didn't go in the portal with a pre-determined destination. Maxwell and Gasso aren't fooling anybody.

BTW, She gave up her right to be respected as a Cowgirl when she decided to play for the team whose goal is to stomp the Cowgirls. Very simple.
