STILLWATER – Kenny Gajewski and Co. have added a talented player out of the transfer portal in former Indiana outfielder, Melina Wilkison.
Wilkison comes to Stillwater after one season at Indiana and three years at Ohio State before that. In her lone season in Bloomington, Wilkison hit .329 with 57 hits in 175 at-bats across 54 games. That included 45 runs scored, 41 RBIs, 11 doubles, seven home runs and 22 stolen bases.
She was an NFCA Third Team All-Midwest Region and Big Ten All-Freshman selection in 2022. She hit .342 with 34 runs scored, 13 RBIs 11 doubles and four homers. She followed up with an even better sophomore season, hitting .373 with 66 hits, 50 runs scored, 44 RBIs, 11 homers and 13 stolen bases.
She was granted a medical redshirt in her junior season in Columbus following a season-ending injury in mid-February.
Wilkison played against the Cowgirls in the Fayetteville Regional, going 2-for-6 with two runs scored and three RBIs, which came on a three-run home run. The Cowgirls won that game 11-6.
Wilkison joins Virginia Tech transfer, Jayden Jones, who committed in late May.
