Oklahoma State Softball Completes Sweep of Houston, 10-2
HOUSTON – A career-high seven RBI day from Caroline Wang propelled No. 6 Oklahoma State to a 10-2 win over Houston Sunday afternoon at Cougar Softball Stadium.
The win improves OSU to 33-6 on the year (12-3 in the Big 12). The loss drops the Cougars to 22-17 overall (3-12 in the Big 12).
Jazmyn Rollin got the Cougars off to a hot start with a leadoff solo home run in the first. The lead was short lived, as Wang doubled home a pair of Cowgirls to make it a 2-1 game.
In the fourth, Rosie Davis extended the lead with a two-run home run, Wang followed suit in the fifth with a two-run shot of her own to push the lead to 6-1.
Rollin tacked on her second solo home run of the day for Houston to cut into the deficit, however Karli Godwin grabbed the run back for the Cowgirls with an RBI double in the following half.
In the sixth, Wang added a three-run home run to push the game into run rule territory. The home run moves her to first in single-season home runs by a catcher in program history with 15.
