When You Move, You Have to Say Good-Bye Before You Say Hello

STILLWATER – I took a slight detour on the way to O’Brate Stadium Friday afternoon. I felt the need to go visit an old friend. After parking my car in a surprisingly empty lot, I got out and walked over to the locked iron gate.

Allie P. Reynolds Stadium

For about 10 minutes my mind wandered back some 40-plus years. It was hard to look into an empty Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.

that was a very nice Cowboy baseball tribute. Well done.

I was wondering about that area where he is standing in the photo, it looks like metal cages. I that handicap seating areas, and the metal seems like an unusual material to use in those hot baking sun filled days.

any idea what that area is?

I've been a Tom Dirato fan for nearly all of those 40 years, and have NEVER been disappointed in his game day broadcasts. I really enjoyed experiencing a new (for me) dimension to his work in his written words telling of his experience of transition from the old new to the new great new., Hats off, and Go Pokes!

It is an area on the concourse near the standing room areas to set things down. I will figure out exactly what goes there today at the game. And I think the metal is more of a style thing instead of actual metal that heats up a whole lot. I will check though!

I remember the day that we first got the new paper in town - the Oklahoma Journal. On the sports page, there was Tom Dirato for the good guys, and that imported easterner for the bad guys from the south. Seems like just yesterday.

He didn't keep up with the times, very boring gamecasts.
