STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has added another talented Texas pledge to the Cowboys receiver corps. Texas has been a big contributor to the Oklahoma State passing game and offense overall under offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Kasey Dunn with the likes of James Washington, Tylan Wallace, and Rashod Owens just to name a few. You can add Kam (Kameron) Powell. The 6-2, 205-pound standout senior-to-be from McKinney (North), Texas made an official visit this past weekend and he pledged to the Pokes.

Last season Powell, part of a talented team that went 7-4 overall and 5-2 in district, caught 40 passes for 744-yards and seven touchdowns, including the one above to beat West Mesquite 14-13 at the wire. As a sophomore, Powell made 16 receptions for 266-yards and a touchdown. Powell is a 4.5 speed guy in the forty. His frame is big, and he can go up and battle at the point of the catch. His ball skills are strong.

It will be interesting to see as he had official visits scheduled to Arkansas (June 14), California (June 20), and Colorado State (June 7). Powell has offers from over 20 schools and those also include Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, Houston, Arizona State, Boise State, and Utah.

Powell makes for six commitments to the Cowboys and that also includes wide receiver Matrail Lopez of Idabel, Okla; offensive tackle Ryker Haff of Owasso, Okla; offensive lineman Jaylan Beckley of Addison (Trinity Christian), Texas; and original 2023 signee Isaiah Kema of Wolfforth (Frenship), Texas; and linebacker Kyle Keya of Wichita (Kapaun Mt. Carmel), Kansas.

Just to add to the luster of Powell’s commitment he is widely considered a top-25 receiver prospect in Texas and is rising on a lot of lists including the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football list.
