Left on Base: Is That A Real Problem for the Pokes

STILLWATER – I tried to go through the Big 12 Conference baseball statistics and see which team leads the conference in runners stranded. I got the idea on Tuesday night seeing Oklahoma State play plenty well enough to win over Dallas Baptist while stranding 12 runners on base throughout the game. Dallas Baptist only stranded seven. It made me think?

so the answer was no, that's not it?

3 pretty bad teams have much lower LOB totals than OSU, and I would not want to trade places in the standings with any of those three. (TCU, BYU, Houston)

I wonder what the "allowed on base" numbers are (or would that be called ERA?)

Perhaps it's because those 3 teams don't get many guy on base to begin with? Batting average?

Maybe a combination of those two stats would be more illuminating.... how many do you get on, and how many do you leave on. (i.e., if you're scoring a lot, then LOB may be due to not being able to score all the guys you actually get on base?)

Interesting question

Even with all the runners left on we still had the lead. The pitcher blew it. They just blew another one against KSU.
