STILLWATER – Oklahoma State standout two-way player Carson Benge has been named a semifinalist for multiple national awards, including his second season in a row for the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year.

Benge was named one of 68 semifinalists for college baseball’s top player award, the Howser Trophy, the award given to college baseball’s top player. As for the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award, Benge is one of 10 semifinalists.

The sophomore is having yet another standout season as he’s leading the Cowboys in nine different offensive categories, including home runs with 15, RBIs with 57, total bases with 135, walks with 43 and doubles with 20.

On the season, Benge is currently hitting an impressive .328 and has struck out just 40 times in 50 starts. Throughout the season, Benge has also posted 23 multi-hit games, and most recently posted a .471 average from the plate against BYU, which included hitting five homeruns, at least one in each of the four games, and hitting a team-high 10 RBIs with a 1.471 slugging percentage.
