Cowgirl Softball’s Kilfoyl and Wang Collect CSC Academic All-America Honors
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Softball's Lexi Kilfoyl and Caroline Wang have both been recognized as College Sport Communicators (CSC) first team Academic All-Americans, the organization announced today.
Oklahoma State now has 118 Academic All-Americans in school history, including four so far this academic year. Over the past eight seasons, OSU has 51 selections, including 22 first-team honorees.
The duo gives the Cowgirls their ninth and 10th first-team selections in program history, raising the program total to 22 Academic All-Americans. This also marks only the second time Cowgirl Softball has had multiple first-team selections, with the first coming in the 1991 season.
Kilfoyl and Wang are the 11th and 12th Cowgirls to be named both All-Americans and Academic All-Americans in the same season, with 10 of those 12 coming in the Gajewski era.
This marks the fourth-consecutive year that Cowgirl Softball has had multiple Academic All-Americans, and the fifth season in program history (1991).
OSU is one of only two schools (with Duke being the other) to have multiple student-athletes named on the first team this year.
This is the second Academic All-America recognition for Wang, who earned third-team honors last season at Liberty. This is the first time Kilfoyl has been named an Academic All-American.
