It seems the national recruiting sites team rankings are not as accurate a barometer of recruiting success as previously. Programs are taking vastly different numbers of HS recruits given the portal impact. Just look at the Rivals and 24/7 2024 ranking of UCF (not a blue blood BTW) with six 4-star recruits vs UNC or Miss St. or Purdue. UCF only had a total of 17 HS recruits vs the others in the upper 20's. Maybe the average rating of a program's recruits is more accurate of the recruiting year success than the actual team ranking.
