STILLWATER – Oklahoma State linebacker Nick Martin had a great game on Saturday in the 39-31 double overtime win over Arkansas.

He recorded 16 total tackles, eight of which were solo stops, with 4.5 tackles for loss and three quarterback hurries. Following the game, ESPN gave him a helmet sticker for his performance and now he’s received a national weekly honor.

On Monday, the Reese’s Senior Bowl named him their Defensive Player of the Week.

Through two games, Martin has recorded 26 total tackles, 15 of which were solo stops, with 5.5 tackles for loss, three quarterback hurries and one pass break up.

One to never take credit, Martin gave props to coach Gundy and his teammates.

“Guys never giving up. You know we had a hell of a fall camp and guys just putting in the work to playing games like these, great opponent like Arkansas, SEC, and we found a way,” said Martin following the Arkansas game. “Coach Gundy preaches discipline and toughness all work and then find ways to overcome our opponent.”

Martin gets a chance to add to his stats this coming Saturday as the Pokes travel to Tulsa for an 11 a.m. kick on ESPN2.
