STILLWATER – Oklahoma State captured the final game of its series against No. 2 Vanderbilt Sunday as the ninth-ranked Cowboys posted a 10-6 win at O'Brate Stadium. With the win, the Pokes improved to 11-2-1 while handing the Commodores just their second loss as they fell to 12-2.

OSU slugged four home runs in the win, two of those by Nolan McLean, and Bryce Osmond collected the win on the mound with a career-long 6 2/3 innings of work to improve to 2-0. McLean finished 3-for-4 at the plate with four RBIs, while Brock Mathis was 2-for-5 and drove in three runs. Alix Garcia also had a pair of RBIs for the Pokes.

The Cowboys used a big second inning to take command of the contest as they rallied for six runs on six hits.

Max Hewitt got things started with a one-out double, and McLean followed by ripping an RBI double down the left-field line for OSU's first run.

Up next, Garcia delivered his second homer of the season, a two-run shot to right-center field that put the Cowboys up 3-0.

Later in the inning, OSU doubled its lead via the long ball when Mathis smashed a three-run  to left to make the score 6-0.The Pokes pushed their lead to 8-0 in the third on McLean's first round tripper of the day, a two-run, opposite-field blast.

Bryce Osmond gets the win over Vanderbilt on Sunday.

Osmond kept the Commodores off the scoreboard over the first 4 1/3 innings before a solo home run by Tate Kolwyck ended the shutout bid.

McLean matched the run when he led off the bottom of the frame with his second homer of the day and fourth of the season.Vandy made things interesting late, plating four runs in the seventh and knocking Osmond from the game after the right-hander tied a career high with six strikeouts.

The visitors got to as close as 9-6 in the eighth, but Jake Thompson's RBI single in the bottom of the inning added an insurance run, and Brett Standlee slammed the door with a perfect ninth inning on the mound to secure the win.

OSU returns to action Tuesday when the Cowboys take on Louisiana-Monroe at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
