STILLWATER – Featuring 17 home contests and a trip to the sports most challenging early-season tournament, the Oklahoma State Softball team has released its 2025 schedule.
“Since we’ve gotten to Oklahoma State, we’ve always worked to play the best schedule that we can play, and we think this schedule exemplifies that,” head coach Kenny Gajewski said. “We’re looking forward to taking this team and seeing how we match up against some of the top teams in the country.”
Nearly 50% of OSU’s scheduled games are against 2024 NCAA Tournament participants, and the Cowgirls face 23 teams who finished last season inside the Top 75 of the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI).
For the second time in three years, Oklahoma State begins its season in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, for the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge from February 6-8, where the Pokes face Florida State (twice), Louisiana Tech and Northern Colorado.
The Cowgirls return to the states for the Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational presented by Evoshield from February 14-16. Playing in that showcase event for the fourth straight year, OSU will go against UCLA, Kentucky, Texas A&M, Auburn and Alabama.
The following week, the Pokes head to Conway, Arkansas, where they’ll play five games in three days at the Michelle Short & Adam Brown Tournament. Oklahoma State takes on the hosts Central Arkansas (twice), SIUE (twice) and South Dakota State from February 21-23.
The Cowgirls make the trip up I-35 for the Shocker Invitational hosted by Wichita State from February 27-28. OSU is slated to play South Dakota State, Wichita State, Nebraska and Missouri.
After nearly a month on the road, Oklahoma State’s home opener comes on March 2 with games against Drake and Tulsa.
OSU then heads to the Lone Star State with a stop at North Texas on March 5 before opening Big 12 play with a three-game set at Texas Tech from March 7-9.
The Cowgirls return to Stillwater for a two-week homestand, beginning with three games against Houston from March 14-16 followed by a three-game series against Baylor from March 21-23.
Oklahoma State then heads east for a week in the Peach State, with contests against Georgia, Georgia Tech (twice) and Penn State lined up. OSU and Georgia haven’t met in Athens since the 2016 NCAA Regionals, and the Pokes have never played against Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
A non-conference game against Arizona State in Tempe on April 2 is followed by a three-game set against Arizona in Tucson from April 4-6. The Cowgirls swept the Wildcats in a 2024 NCAA Super Regional to advance to the Women’s College World Series.
The Pokes remain on the road to take on Oklahoma at Devon Park in Oklahoma City on April 9 before hosting Iowa State in a three-game series from April 11-13 in Stillwater.
Following a midweek matchup against Wichita State in Stillwater on April 15, OSU travels to UCF for a three-game set from April 17-19.
A top-level showdown against Texas in Stillwater on April 23 precedes a three-game series against Kansas in Lawrence from April 25-27.
The regular season concludes with four home games – a midweek contest against North Texas on April 30 followed by a weekend series against Utah from May 2-4 at Cowgirl Stadium.
Start times and television designations, along with details regarding ticket information, will be announced at a later date.
