Oklahoma State Lands OU Transfer Running Back Kalib Hicks
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State just landed its second commitment of the day, this time on the offensive side of the ball in OU transfer running back, Kalib Hicks.
Hicks is now the fifth transfer commitment for the Pokes, joining Tulsa OL Kasen Carpenter, Weber State OL Lavaka Taukeiaho, Central Arkansas TE Jordan Owens and Akron LB Bryan McCoy.
The Cowboys’ recruiting staff extended the offer on December 10, just 24 hours after he entered the portal. It was a short, and seemingly private, recruiting period and one that seemed to not have a lot of activity as Hicks posted pictures of his visit to Stillwater on his Instagram account, while not reporting a lot of offers as San Diego State was the only other offer.
Hicks, originally out of Denton (TX) Ryan, checks in at 5-11, 209 pounds, and is coming off his redshirt freshman year for the Sooners. He recorded three carries for 14 yards against Arkansas State in 2023, including a six-yard touchdown run.
As a senior for Ryan, Hicks was ranked as the No. 54 overall prospect out of Texas by On3, after rushing for more than 3,000 yards and 31 touchdowns.
Out of high school, he held offers from Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Kansas, Miami, Ole Miss, Penn State, South Carolina, TCU and Texas Tech.
