Batman Will Soon Call Stillwater Home - Top RB Recruit Kaydin Jones Commits to Pokes
JENKS –You would have thought there was a Bedlam game coming up as a lot of the spectators inside the Robert L. Sharp Health and Fitness Center at Jenks High School were sporting colors as in orange or crimson or they were simply expressing their opinion. However, only one opinion counted and that was the one from four-star and top Oklahoma high school football recruiting prospect Kaydin Jones.
The 6-0, 185-pound speedster that is also very capable of breaking tackles and even running over competition stood in front of his classmates, coaches, parents, media, and viewers on two different streams and said he is going to be an Oklahoma State Cowboy.
The recruiting process on Jones, the son of former Oklahoma running back Kejuan Jones, has been staff wide in Stillwater with head coach Mike Gundy, director of recruiting Todd Bradford, and director of football finance Kenyatta Wright all very involved and with contributions of both the recruiting staff and the coaching staff. You knew it was “all hands-on deck” when the entire staff, the whole West End Zone at Boone Pickens Stadium put the “Bat signal” out on social media a month ago. A special shout out to new running backs coach Cory Patterson as he hit it off with Jones and his family.

It also didn’t hurt that Kejuan Jones had great success coming to Oklahoma from Jenks and having success after being recruited by Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy’s brother Cale Gundy. It helped being familiar with the family for Kaydin and his family.
Jones also runs track. He rushed for 1,498-yards and 17 touchdowns this past season and had two 200-yard plus games, something his dad also did at Jenks. He has 2,778-yards in his career and is already No. 11 on the Jenks career list. As a freshman, Jones was at Broken Arrow and ran for 1,264 yards.

Jones offer list was over 25 schools and included are Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Kansas, Louisville and Tennessee as well as Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Colorado, Houston, Kansas State, Kentucky, Michigan State, Mississippi, Oregon, SMU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Utah, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin.
He joins a list of some prominent running backs that went to Oklahoma State like Barry Sanders, Thurman Thomas, Terry Miller, Kendall Hunter, Tatum Bell, Chuba Hubbard and Ollie Gordon II. It’s even more impressive that he is on a list of prominent running backs at Oklahoma State from Oklahoma like David Thompson, Justice Hill, Kye Staley, Jeremy Smith, and most recently young Rodney Fields.
It will be a lot of fun to watch as Batman starts fighting defenses for the Cowboy nation in the 2026 season. Meanwhile, the Jenks Trojans get another season with Batman.
