My hope is that since he was such a pup at SCar and didn't play in any meaningful games, he's yet to show his value and he will blossom. From listening to Gundy, the "coaching review" on transfer portal guys is really based a lot on the recruiting staff's data information anymore. And jumping on a guy in the portal early he says restricts old coaching methods of spending much time sorting out prospects by position coaches. So it sounds like the talent/recruiting target staff and then the NIL/Contract staff is about 75% of this process now. Hopefully coaches can trust those staff members and at least get to give meaningful thumbs up/thumbs down input based on some tape and data info. It's a new world.

You are always on here posting in a passive-aggressive tone anytime someone is excited about a highly rated recruit. Look, you may be correct that nobody really knows how this kid will work out, neither do the coaches you seem to blindly put faith in…which is why the entire staff got canned.

This program has fallen due to lazy recruiting and poor evaluation, so yes, go get me an entire roster full of highly ranked guys and I will gladly take my chances.

But we can certainly disagree.

Thanks PokeSmot for sticking up for me. I do not understand why Rodeo is attacking my excitement over getting a top end recruit but I have a theory.

I was perhaps a little rude to him before so this is probably some payback and that is OK. I am sorry Rodeo if I offended you. Let's all get along.

Yes, I do feel that our recruiting in the past 20 years has been at time really marginal. I see some improvement now on paper and I hope it translates into wins. Rodeo is right though. How do we as fans know what these kids will do once they get here.
