Oklahoma State Has Its 2026 Class Quarterback in Kase Evans
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State football hosted three official visitors this weekend and as the group headed out on Saturday, the Cowboys got their quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class with Kase Evans of Lexington, Texas.
“It (visit) went good,” Evans said to Pokes Rport by phone. “I enjoyed it all, the people and the culture and I committed.”
Evans was named the district offensive MVP on the season.
That is good football, especially in the State of Texas. Last season. Evans threw for 3,113 yards and 37 touchdowns with just seven interceptions, helping the Eagles to a 12-2 overall record, falling to Tidehaven, 35-21, in the regional final of the 2024 UIL Texas HS playoffs. Tidehaven fell to Woodville in the semifinals, who lost to Gunter in the 3A title game.
Evans and his father enlisted recruiting guru, and now consultant, Mike Farrell. Farrell evaluated Evans and told the family he was a Division I Power Four caliber quarterback. The word got out and Oklahoma State offered the 6-3, 200-pound dual threat quarterback, leading to his official visit this past weekend.

Evans and his family, including his father, saw all they wanted to with a summer OTA practice, all of the facilities, meeting with quarterback coach Kevin Johns and offensive coordinator Doug Meacham. There was the usual big meals and trip to head coach Mike Gundy’s house. With summer school not starting until Monday, the community and campus was a little less active than normal, but it appeared to sit well with Kase Evans and his family.
“It was great and I really got along with Coach Meacham and Coach Gundy,” he said. “It’s amazing how much Coach Gundy is like my head coach (Lexington head coach Kirk Muhl). They are both so down to earth. Coach Gundy has a lot of accomplishments, but he’s so easy to talk to and he’s really fun to be around.”
Last season Evans also rushed for close to 200-yards and two touchdowns.
Lexington improved from 2023 to 2024 under Evans, who also started as a sophomore. He threw for nearly 3,000 yards in 2023 with 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions on a 57% completion rate.
“I know my summer just got freed up a bunch,” Evans said of the pledge to OSU. “I was going to go to a bunch of camps, but now I will just work out with my team, train with my quarterback coach and work on getting faster.”
Evans has improved year after year and is set for solid senior season. Then it will be on to college and playing at Oklahoma State.
