OSU went on top for good when Encarnacion-Strand led off the second inning with a homer, his team-leading eighth of the season. Later in the frame, the Cowboys tacked on two more runs on a two-out, two-RBI double by Trenkle to go up 3-0.
Despite not collecting a hit, K-State got its first run in the third, taking advantage of a pair of walks and a double steal and scoring on a groundout.
The Cowboys took control in the middle innings. A three-run fourth inning was highlighted by an RBI double off the bat of McCusker and a sacrifice fly from Hueston Morrill, and OSU added two more runs in the fifth on RBI singles by McCusker and Brock Mathis.
The lone hit K-State would get off Wrobleski came in the seventh when Zach Kokoska led off the inning with a home run to right field that provided the final 8-2 score.
Trevor Martin and Brett Standlee combined to keep the Wildcats off the scoreboard over the final two innings to secure the win.
Up next, OSU hosts Bedlam-rival Oklahoma in a non-conference game Tuesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. at O'Brate Stadium.
