Oklahoma State Lands Ole Miss Transfer Catcher Campbell Smithwick

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has pulled former Ole Miss catcher, Campbell Smithwick, out of the transfer portal. 

This past season as a sophomore, Smithwick played in 40 games for the Rebels, starting in 27. He hit .282 from the plate in 110 at-bats with a .464 slugging percentage. He recorded 33 strikeouts and 17 walks, with five doubles and five home runs, with 23 RBIs and two stolen bases.

In the field, he recorded a .994 fielding percentage with 159 putouts, 13 assists and one error. 

Those numbers are up from his freshman season, in which he hit .253 from the plate 27 games. In 75 at-bats, he recorded 19 hits with 29 strikeouts and 20 walks.  

In the field as a freshman, Smithwick had 159 putouts, 12 assists and two errors for a .988 fielding percentage.
