STILLWATER – I don’t have to tell any Oklahoma State fans how valuable that premier offensive line recruits are, they are worth their weight in gold and these guys weigh a little bit. It would seem that Oklahoma State would not be looking for a lot of offensive linemen in the 2027 class. The roster numbers now show no spots available, but in this day of transfer portal that can change in a hurry. Oklahoma State offensive line coaches Andrew Mitchell and Cooper Bassett and offensive line recruiter Zach Allen are busy. They’ve made 12 offers in the 2027 class. Two of them are in-state and as of Thursday night, both of them are ranked in KOTV Channel 6’s Oklahoma High School Top 10 Players List.

Cooper Hackett in action.

Cooper Hacket is a 6-7, 260 pound standout from Fort Gibson, Okla. The folks making the decision on this top 10 list have Hackett at No. 7. Remember he’s a junior this season. Hackett is a five-star prospect and he has 20 offers so far. Oklahoma State is one of those, but the biggest threat may be Texas Tech with all the money they have been flashing. Now, it is now to revenue sharing with NIL deal having to be approved. Tech has switched uniform and shoe comapny to Adidas and they seem to be happy to float money to the players at the schools they have deal with.

That is all another story. As for Hacket being ranked No. 7 by KOTV. He has size and he has had a lot of experience.

Hackett this spring in Stillwater.

“One day I looked myself up and I had four stars,” Hackett said. “Now it is five and it going up and up. I’m real grateful and it is surreal. Oviously, I have size and I’m very gifted with that but I think I have great mobility and athletic ability.”

Great size, great mobility and then you compare that with how competitive he is,” his head coach Ryan Nolan added. “He is a baller.”

Besides Oklahoma State and Texas Tech, he has offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Kansas State, Missouri, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Nebraska among others.

Hacket, who has been to Oklahoma State in the spring and for games, is not in a hurry to make his college decision. He is more about the work and improving because he is intent that college will be a vehicle for him to get to the NFL. He has big goals.

The No. 9 player the other night was all-purpose athlete and two-way player Braeden Presley of Bixby, who is in the 2026 class and is committed to following his oldest brother Brennan to Oklahoma State. Brennan is now with the Los Angeles Rams.

Braeden is likely to be a defensive back, but he can really appreciate on offense when he igetting blocks from Kaeden Penny. Penny is 6-4, 290 and an Oklahoma State offer. He is a major force according to Presley.

“The energy he gives off to the O-line, they feed off of it and that makes them play better,” Presley said of Penny. “KP is a young player, but he is really an old player because of the experience he has had and the work he has put in over the summer. He is going to be one of the biggest stars this season and into his senior season.”

Penny is a four-star prospect as of now and has over 20 offers including Auburn, Arkansas, Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and SMU. Oklahoma State offered him early and would add him to the mix at anytime.

Penny last season.

Like Presley said about his teammate, he is a hard worker and determined.

“First, you have to have great footwork and you have to recognize what the defense is doing,” Penny said. “You have to put in all the hard work.”

“Kaeden is mone of the most talented offensive linemen I’ve ever worked with in my 26-years of coaching,” Bixby head coach Loren Montgomery said with high praise. “He is humble, he is a hard worker and the gifts of having great feet, long arms, and athletic ability. He had a great sophomore season and we expect he will have a great junior season and then his senior year.”

Two great offensive line prospects in Oklahoma and that is not always the case in each class. I believe they will both be five-star prospects before their senior seasons.
